A wallet holds keys, not coins in a leather sense

Crypto “wallets” store cryptographic keys that control on-chain balances. The coins live on the ledger; the wallet proves authority to move them. Confusing app UI balances with local storage of coins leads people to misunderstand backups: you back up the seed phrase or device, not a file of tokens.

Wallets come as browser wallet extensions, mobile apps, desktop software, and hardware wallet devices. All can display the same address family if they use the same seed—or completely different accounts if not. Label accounts by purpose: spending, farming, long-term.
